Hawaii I: A drive to the North Shore

When we arrived in Honolulu, the first challenge was getting to our hotel. Our friends who were on the same plane offered us a lift. Easiersaid than done in a convertible!
Pat and Ralph met us at our hotel and we had a great dinner at Sarrento’s restaurant on the 30th floor of our hotel. We had to go up in a glass elevator, much to Pat's horror. The food and the service was great.
The next day Ralph hired a car and we drove up to the North Shore. Of course we had to have a convertible too!
First stop, some shopping and snow cones. It was really hot and these hit the spot.
You know, Ralph, that spot right between your eyes when you eat these too fast!

Next stop was the beach. The North Shore definitely had better beaches than Waikiki, but still not like Queensland. This is the place where there can be 40 foot waves, but this is the off season, when the trade winds are not blowing, so they were lucky to be 4 inch waves.

The scenery is really nice with only houses, no high rises. Great mountains.

We didn't stop much, but it was worth the drive to see it all. Stay tuned for what we did next!
