Interesting Indiana Towns

We went down to Mammoth caves in Kentucky over the weekend which I will get to in subsequent posts, but first I want to point out some of the interesting towns in Indiana. We saw a couple along the way and that got me investigating.

Some towns that seem to be in the wrong state. Probably because Indiana is the cross-roads of America, so everyone from other states brought a little bit with them.
Albany IN (not NY)
Arlington IN (not VA)
Austin IN (not TX)
Buffalo IN (not NY)
Columbus IN (not OH)
Dallas IN (not TX)
Denver IN (not CO)
Lafayette IN (not LA)
Memphis IN (not TN)
Miami IN (not FL)
Nashville IN (not TN)
Portland IN (not OR)

Now let's just get a little bit Simspons. Yes, Indiana has:
Springfield IN
Shelbyville IN
but not next to each other. There are also:
Simpson IN
Duff IN
Skinner Lake IN

Some funnies that I just have to mention:
Bugtown IN
Carlos City IN
Chili IN
Darmstadt IN
Daylight IN
Deputy IN
Dresser IN
Dublin IN
Eden IN
Edinburgh IN
French Lick IN
Gnaw Bone IN
Hemlock IN
Hobart IN
Leisure IN
Licking IN
Mount Etna IN
Oil IN
Petroleum IN
Popcorn IN
Perth IN
Pumpkin Center IN
Roll IN
Santa Claus IN
Speed IN
Toad Hop IN

For those who knew me before I was married, although spelt differently,
Mifflin IN and also
Mifflin PA (as an aside).

This is the full list of Indiana towns, but beware, there are 1601 of them! Look up a couple of other states for many hours procrastination.
